The HEMOFLUID Chemical Plant begins operations. The company operates under the name FAM Lubricant Factory, dating back to 1966, when it separated from the then chemical industry "Merima" and became an independent company, an edible oil factory and a cooking fat production plant, which until 1972 operated within the joint-stock company IPK "Vrbas" in Vrbas under the name of the Oil and Lubricant Factory, Kruševac.
At the end of 1972, due to different technologies in the production processes of edible oils and lubricants, as well as differences in the properties and application of the products, the lubricant factory was separated from the oil factory, which operated under the name "FAM" LUBRICANT FACTORY - KRUŠEVAC.
In 1972 production reaches 1800 tons with an assortment of 60 products, mainly in the field of metalworking products and lubricating greases. The factory employs a total of 47 workers, 2 of whom have higher education. FAM begins a major reconstruction of facilities, modernization and increase in capacity for the production of greases, industrial oils, additive packages and emulsifiers.
In 1982, FAM reaches its highest production volume of 34,069 tons, with an assortment of 147 products.
1990 In order to expand its activities beyond the scope of its main activity, the Lubricants Plant, together with the company "Interexport" Belgrade, founded the joint venture "Faminex" d.o.o. whose activity is the production and sale of special lubricants, with its headquarters in the Belgrade Free Zone.
Since 1992, the Lubricants Plant has been operating as part of the Public Company for Production and Trade of Oil and Natural Gas, NIS - Oil Industry of Serbia, with the new name NIS-Lubricants Plant-FAM, as part of the Lubricants Production Company. During this period, the company has been developing intensively in terms of product range, programs and investments.
The year 1995 was of great importance for the development of FAM. NIS-Lubricants Plant-FAM founded the company Fampharm, whose main activity is the production of pharmaceuticals. In order to expand the market to other parts of the former SFRY, in 1995 the company Faminex d.o.o. was founded with its headquarters in Skopje and in 1996 the company Faminex d.o.o. with its headquarters in Sokolac. NIS-FAM embarks on intensive investment activities to relocate its production facilities to an area of 19 hectares. At the new location in Bivolje, production and storage facilities with an area of 25,500 m2 have been built, with complete infrastructure and appropriate energy resources.
1997 The lubricant factory founded the company Famambalaza d.o.o. with the scope of activity of manufacturing steel and plastic packaging for its own needs and for the needs of the market.
The production of greases begins in a newly built facility at a new location in Bivol. 2003 With the completion of the above investment activities, conditions are created for increasing capacities, product range and acquisition of new technologies. The plant for the production of motor and industrial oils, put into operation on 30.06.2003. is a modern production, which is carried out in a fully automated mode with software-controlled processes. NIS-FAM Lubricant Factory has invested approximately $50 million of its own funds in its new location.
2005. With the expiration of the NIS Law, the newly established company for the production of petroleum derivatives FABRIKA MAZIVA d.o.o. Kruševac, started operating on 01.10.2005 as an independent legal entity, founded by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
2006. The factory for the production of plastic and steel packaging Famambalaza merged with Fabrica maziva d.o.o.
2007 The Lubricant Plant was privatized. In the tender procedure, 70% of the capital was sold to a consortium of legal entities comprising "Road Company Belgrade" AD. Belgrade and Petrobart d.o.o. Belgrade Trade and Consulting Company. The company changed its legal form from a limited liability company to an open joint-stock company and converted its shares into shares. After the completion of the privatization process, FAM operates within the system of NIBENS Group.
In 2008, Faminex d.o.o. Kruševac was merged with FAM.
In 2011, the privatization contract of FAM with the buyer of the capital was terminated due to non-fulfillment of contractual obligations and the high indebtedness of the company. FAM is again state-owned. The state's participation in the capital structure is 99.63%. After the termination of the privatization, a decision was made for restructuring and a temporary representative of the capital was appointed.
In 2015, the reorganization process of FAM was launched through a preliminary reorganization plan (PRP).
In 2017, the newly built plant for the production of anti-corrosion agents (AKZ) and degreasing and cleaning agents (SOC) was put into operation at the new FAM location in Bivolje.
In 2018, a preliminary reorganization plan was adopted - revised text from 09.11.2018, the main implementation measure of which is the sale of part of the property to a strategic partner, the company Ellis Enterprises East d.o.o. Belgrade, a subsidiary of Valvoline Holdings B.V. The Netherlands Dordrecht,
